It has been too long!

I am excited to start posting in my blog again. It has been a busy past 2 years with teaching my PreK students. I did create a few things, but I never had the chance to post. Now that I am off for the summer, I want to start blogging again.

I have spent the past few days on a few blogs that I followed and came across a Father’s Day challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut. They are giving away a $50.00 gift card to SVG Cuts, so I would really love to win that because I am enjoying my Explore. I thought that I was done buying machines, but I had to buy the Explore because you are allowed to cut whatever you want. I was hoping to one day buy the Silhouette Cameo, but I am glad I never did. I could never cheat on my Cricuts :)

Onto the challenge…

I made these cards for my dad and grandpa.

June's 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Welcome to June's 100 Cartridge Blog Hop!

You should have come from Erica's Project.

I am excited to get back to blogging because I have missed crafting and sharing my creations with everyone. In the beginning of May I was preparing for my brother's graduation party and then started going to job interviews.

On Friday I got a call from Human Resources letting me know that I am the new PreK teacher at A.W. Jones EC/PK Center. I am SUPER excited!!! I subbed in that school for about a month and I fell in love with the school and with everyone there. I wanted to be part of that school and I am super blessed for getting my dream job :D I can't wait to start my first year as a teacher on August 27th!

Now on to my creations...I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 cartridge to create these crackers (that's what they are called in the booklet). It took a lot of trial and error until I finally figured out how to do them. I made 30 of them so it took a lot of scoring and folding since I don't have the scoring tool for the cricut. Luckily I have an awesome boyfriend who helped me do a lot of the folding.
My sister created the logo and I printed them out and used a circle punch. I also used Ribbons & Rosettes to cut out the label behind the logo at 2 inches. I put Jolly Ranchers inside them, since the party was going to be outside and I didn't want anything to melt.
As you can see...it was A LOT of scoring and folding, but I loved the finished product.

I also created these treat bags that I got the idea from Robyn, My Pink Stamper.
I used Lacy Labels for the labels behind the circles. I cut them at 2 inches. I also made 30 of these.
I placed them on all the tables.

I told my boyfriend to take a few pictures of my decorations and he took some really good ones.
 I love decorating!

I am so PROUD of him :D
My parents did a great job raising me and my two siblings because all 3 of us are all college graduates now!

Since I was subbing the same students for a month, I wanted to make them some goodie bags. They graduated from PreK on May 25th. The kids loved them!!! I can't wait to make lots of goodie bags for all of my future students.
I used the Locker Talk cartridge to cut out the caps at 2 inches.

I stamped Celebrate on the front and Best Wishes on the back using the stamp set called Spanish Sayings by My Pink Stamper.
Here are all 28 of them.

I also had the students create a cute little art project.
I used the Mickey Font cartridge to cut out the letters and numbers at 2 1/2 inches.

The students also purchased bears and all of the students got to sign each others bear. Super cute!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my graduation post.

Your next stop is Shelley.

Congratulations Pop-Up Card

Hello everyone! I was excited to finally be able to use my Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge because I bought it a long time ago and never used it.

I had to figure out how to make the lady pop-out without folding her in half. It took me a while to figure it out, but I think that this was the right way to put her on the card. I thought that the booklet was going to come with instructions, but it doesn't.

On Saturday my line sisters and I reunited and went out to dinner. Most of us graduated already, so we never get to see each other. It was a night full of surprises! One of my sisters got engaged a few hours before dinner and one of them found out that she was pregnant 4 days ago. I felt very lucky to be able to be one of the first ones to hear the news. I created this card for my sorority sister who is pregnant. I used our sorority colors (pink & purple), since she doesn't know if it's going to be a boy or girl yet.

This is the front. I used pop dots for the sentiment.

The Inside
 Another view of the inside.
This is how it looks when it's closed.
Mini Tutorial
Once I glued the lady on the shadow, I added tacky tape (red tape) on the flaps that are folded.
I also cut out pieces of the cardstock that I used and glued it on the flaps because I wanted it to blend in with the card.
I then removed the backing to the red tape and taped it down.
Materials Used
Cartridges: Everyday Pop-Up Cards (lady cut at 4 3/4 inches)
Lacy Labels (label on the front cut at 4 inches and the one inside the card at 3 inches)
Holiday Cakes (sentiment cut at 1 inch)

Stamp: Sweet Baby by My Pink Stamper

Ink: Dusty Concord Distress Ink by Ranger

Paper: Summer Song by My Mind's Eye

Welcome to the “It’s All About Catitude”  Blog Hop in honor of National Cat Day, October 29, 2011, and our furry little felines hosted by Barbara. The theme of the hop is “It’s All About Catitude” and 18 crafty ladies have come together to create some purrfectly adorable projects in honor of National Cat Day and our furry little felines.

If you came here from Vicki, then you are in the right place. But if you happened to end up here, then you will want to go back to the beginning at Barbara’s and hop along with us as you don’t want to miss any of the meowy purrfectly frisky projects. The hop will run for two days, October 28, 2011 and October 29, 2011. So please be sure to check back each day to see what new project each of our talented ladies has in store for you.

I created this card using the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge. I just love Hello Kitty and I was never a fan of real cats until I got one of my own.
Materials Used
Cartridges: Hello Kitty Greetings (HK cut at 3 inches)
Mini Monsters (broom cut at 3 inches)

Paper: Halloween by We R Memory Keepers

Stamp: Spooky Puns by My Pink Stamper

Ink: Tim Holtz Dusty Concord and Walnut Stain Distress Ink by Ranger

Other: Glossy accents by Ranger (used it on the moon and tree)

Unfortunately, I only had my kitty for about 6 months because I moved back home with my parents and my mom is not a fan of cats. I found her a great home to live at.

She was best friends with my chihuahua.
Whoever said that cats and dogs can't be friends?
Pretty much all my babies ever did was sleep :)

A friend of mine did catch me and them sleeping together one time when I came home tired from working in the Preschool. I didn't even know that the picture was taken until one day I was looking through the pictures in my cell and found it. I love this picture, but I miss my kitty :( You can tell how tired I was because I didn't make it to my pillow.

Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop is Wendy.

Happy Birthday Sweetie!

I designed a Birthday card and I got inspired to make this card by a card that I saw in the Stampin' Up holiday mini catalog. I don't sell Stampin' Up, but one day I do hope to.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Today is Open House in my school and unfortunately I lost my voice because I have a really bad cold. Good thing that my mentor is not sick. I am going to have to figure out what I am going to do when I do have my own classroom and lose my voice.
Materials Used
Cartridges: Celebrate with Flourish (cake out at3 3/4 inches)
Fancy Frames (frame cut at 2 inches)

September's 100 Cartridge Blog Hop ~ Part 2

This is the 2nd part of the 100 Cartridge Blog Hop. Check out Part 1 here.

For these cards I used a black CRI-Kits gel pen for the images on my cards. If you have never used CRI-Kits, check out their website to learn how. Instead of using your blade, you use gel pens to draw the image on the paper. At first I was scared to buy gel pens because I always ended up with some that wouldn't write, but I love these. They work really well and I didn't have any problems with them.

I created these cards for Project Sunshine and Smiles and hopefully the kids understand that they can color the card. I wanted to do something different and I remember getting a Valentine's card a long time ago that was black and white and I had so much fun coloring it.
