Spring Card

Good Morning everyone! Wow! I just realized that I will be graduating in 10 days! I can't wait to be an alumni from Sam Houston State University :) And tomorrow is also my LAST day of student teaching!!!

I created a Spring Card because I have really enjoyed making these cards. They are so easy to make! The only hard thing about this type of card is finding the right envelope.
Materials Used
Cartridges: Hello Kitty Greetings (Snowman cut at 4 3/4 inches)
Winter Lace (snowflake cut at 4 3/4 inches)

Paper:Winter Wonder by DCWV (tags)
           Jingle Bells by Recollections

Ink: Pearlescent Orchid Dew Drop

Ocean Animals

I really enjoyed using the Splish Splash cartridge because the cuts just have 2 layers! I love using cartridges that only require 2 layers, but still look elegant.
 All 3

I used the Cricut Craft Room to weld my labels together to create a card.
I used this cut for the pattern paper.
Materials Used
Cartridges: Splish Splash (turtle and octopus cut at 3 1/4 inches and dolphin cut at 3 inches)
Lacy Labels (used the Cricut Craft Room)

Stamps: Enjoy the Journey by Pink by Design

Paper: Best of Damask by My Mind's Eye

1st Cricut Cake

Today I am excited to share a cake that I decorated with my mom. My mom has always been able to create fabulous cakes and she was excited when the Cricut Cake was released. We bought two Cricut Cakes last year and we barely used one for the first time.

I enjoyed showing my mom how to use the Cricut Cake and I can’t wait to decorate some more cakes with her. My mother was the one who did most of the work because she baked the cake and rolled the fondant onto the mat.

I always complained about having to change the paper on my mat when I had to use more than one color or make more cuts, but after seeing how much work it takes to roll the fondant…I need to stop complaining.

My mom purchased the fondant at Michaels and it is called Wilton Rolled Fondant. We didn’t want to make our own fondant because we first wanted to practice using the Cricut. We thought that we were going to have to practice a few times, but all we had to do was make one cut and we weren't scared to start cutting some more.
 Our first cut
I helped my mother decorate this cake for one of her friend's daughter's baby shower. So far everyone who I know is pregnant is going to have a boy. Pretty crazy!

“IT’S ALL ABOUT CATITUDE” BLOG HOP

Welcome to the “It’s All About Catitude”  Blog Hop in honor of National Cat Day, October 29, 2011, and our furry little felines hosted by Barbara. The theme of the hop is “It’s All About Catitude” and 18 crafty ladies have come together to create some purrfectly adorable projects in honor of National Cat Day and our furry little felines.

If you came here from Vicki, then you are in the right place. But if you happened to end up here, then you will want to go back to the beginning at Barbara’s and hop along with us as you don’t want to miss any of the meowy purrfectly frisky projects. The hop will run for two days, October 28, 2011 and October 29, 2011. So please be sure to check back each day to see what new project each of our talented ladies has in store for you.

I created this card using the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge. I just love Hello Kitty and I was never a fan of real cats until I got one of my own.
Materials Used
Cartridges: Hello Kitty Greetings (HK cut at 3 inches)
Mini Monsters (broom cut at 3 inches)

Paper: Halloween by We R Memory Keepers

Stamp: Spooky Puns by My Pink Stamper

Ink: Tim Holtz Dusty Concord and Walnut Stain Distress Ink by Ranger

Other: Glossy accents by Ranger (used it on the moon and tree)

Unfortunately, I only had my kitty for about 6 months because I moved back home with my parents and my mom is not a fan of cats. I found her a great home to live at.

She was best friends with my chihuahua.
Whoever said that cats and dogs can't be friends?
Pretty much all my babies ever did was sleep :)

A friend of mine did catch me and them sleeping together one time when I came home tired from working in the Preschool. I didn't even know that the picture was taken until one day I was looking through the pictures in my cell and found it. I love this picture, but I miss my kitty :( You can tell how tired I was because I didn't make it to my pillow.

Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop is Wendy.

Wedding Card

Today I am showing you all a wedding card that I created just for fun. I don’t know of anyone who is getting married, but I got inspired after watching the Breaking Dawn trailer for the 100th + time. I can’t wait to see the movie!!! I am counting down the days!
I also just found out that I will be graduating from SHSU on Friday, December 16th at 6:30 pm! I can’t believe that’s it’s going to be November next week already. I am excited to be graduating soon, but I feel like the days are passing by too quickly!!! I don't want to step into the "real world" yet.
Materials Used
Cartridge: Wedding (silhouette cut at 5 inches)
Paper: The Luxury Stack and The Shimmer Stack by DCWV

Winter

I had so much fun making this project because I got the idea from the Oriental Trading Crafts catalogue. They always have cute projects for kids to make and when I saw a tree made out of snowflakes, I just had to make one. It took some trial and error, but to get the beads to stay, you have to use lots of glue. I used a hot glue gun and continued layering the tree until I knew that each bead was stuck.
 Other Views
Cartridge Used: Winter Lace (Snowflakes were cut from 2-6 inches. I added 1/2 inches every time.)

Mini Tutorial
I used chipboard to cut out the snowflakes. (my mom is always able to get the chipboard that comes in business packages from work and gives them to me)
I then cut the snowflakes in glitter paper and glued them onto the chipboard. Once everything adhered, I got some flat beads and hot glued them to the center of each snowflake.
