Elegant Cakes Cartridge

Open House was a fun and a new experience. I learned a lot from my mentor of what to say and not say to parents. I enjoyed seeing my kids out of uniform. They all looked so cute and different.

I got my voice back a little bit and I had a student ask, "Ms. Lopez, when is your throat going away?" I then asked her if she didn't like how my voice sounded and she gave me the no comment look. I hope that my voice sounds a little better later on today. Thank you all for all of the Get Well wishes!

I created another card using a cake cartridge because I just love how simple and elegant the designs are in those cartridges. I also used the card feature button in A Child's Year. I never realized the beautiful card designs that cartridge has.
I didn't add a sentiment because I don't know who to give it to yet and I can use this card for all sorts of occasions, Thanksgiving, Best Wishes, Fall, etc.

Materials Used
Cartridges: Elegant Cakes (accent cut at 2 1/2 inches)
                  A Child's Year (card cut at 5 3/4 inches)

Happy Birthday Sweetie!

I designed a Birthday card and I got inspired to make this card by a card that I saw in the Stampin' Up holiday mini catalog. I don't sell Stampin' Up, but one day I do hope to.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Today is Open House in my school and unfortunately I lost my voice because I have a really bad cold. Good thing that my mentor is not sick. I am going to have to figure out what I am going to do when I do have my own classroom and lose my voice.
Materials Used
Cartridges: Celebrate with Flourish (cake out at3 3/4 inches)
Fancy Frames (frame cut at 2 inches)

All About The Guys Blog Hop

Good Morning everyone! Welcome to the All about the Guys Blog Hop.

You should have arrived here from Erica's blog.

I have created a Zoo themed cube. I bought this cube at Target for $1 I think 2 years ago. A friend of mine wanted me to help her create some decorations for her child's room. I like the cube because her child will be able to display whichever Zoo animal he wants.
Materials Used:
Cartridges: Create a Critter (monkey cut at 3 1/4 inches, koala cut at 2 1/2 inches, elephant cut at 2 inches, seal cut at 2 1/2 inches, lion cut at 2 1/4 inches)

B is for Boy (kangaroo cut at 3 1/4 inches)

An apple for the Teacher

Good Morning everyone! Today is a very exciting day for me because I am going to be observed by my supervisor while I teach. I am a little nervous, but I always get excited about the feedback. I like finding out what my strengths and weaknesses are.

I created a card to have in my collection of "teacher cards" for the future. I have been wanting to learn how to make a Swing Card and I just had this idea in mind. I watched this tutorial and I had to go through some trial and error, but it was worth it.

This card was the hardest thing I ever had to take a picture of.

This is how it looks when it is folded down.
Open...
Open it a little more to reveal the other side.
If you look at the back of the card, this is what you will see.

Cartridge: Create a Critter (apple cut at 2 3/4 inches)

The Little Mermaid

I created a Side Step Card and every time I make this card I watch this quick tutorial video.

I made this card for my sister because she loves The Little Mermaid and her birthday is next week.
This is from our last family trip to Disney World back in March of 2004
(I had just turned 15)
As you can tell, my sister (24 years old =P) is a HUGE fan! She even bought a crown full of Little Mermaid pins.

My mom is planning another Disney World trip for this summer because in May my brother graduates from college, so we are all going to celebrate our graduations. I can't wait!!! I went to Disneyland last year in June for my 21st birthday, but nothing compares to Disney World!

Materials Used
Cartridge: Dreams Come True (Ariel cut at 4 inches, Flounder cut at 2 inches, plants cut at 1 1/2 inches and 2 inches, and the sea shells cut at 1 inch)

Other: atyou Spica pens

September's 100 Cartridge Blog Hop ~ Part 1

Wow I can’t believe that it’s September already! I hope that you have been enjoying the blog hop so far! I love the 100 Cartridge Blog Hop because I get to see so many different creations with a lot of different cartridges.
You should have come from Tracey’s blog, Scrappin In The Woods With A BugDidn’t Tracey create such a wonderful layout? I am going to start scrapbooking again today! I am really excited because I had stopped scrapbooking as I became addicted to card making.
I used 6 cartridges to create different cards for Project Sunshine and Smiles. This is your last week to make them and Erica (My Cricut Craft Room) is hoping to receive 5,000 cards.
I created a few Spinner Cards and if you want to learn how to make one, check out this post for a tutorial.

September's 100 Cartridge Blog Hop ~ Part 2

This is the 2nd part of the 100 Cartridge Blog Hop. Check out Part 1 here.

For these cards I used a black CRI-Kits gel pen for the images on my cards. If you have never used CRI-Kits, check out their website to learn how. Instead of using your blade, you use gel pens to draw the image on the paper. At first I was scared to buy gel pens because I always ended up with some that wouldn't write, but I love these. They work really well and I didn't have any problems with them.

I created these cards for Project Sunshine and Smiles and hopefully the kids understand that they can color the card. I wanted to do something different and I remember getting a Valentine's card a long time ago that was black and white and I had so much fun coloring it.
